Avon Group 48 pax
22 - 28 February 2008
This was a hard working, fun loving group that spent 6 nights with us in Livingstone. The group was made up of 2 men and 46 women! Cansaf met them at the airport and transferred them to Royal Livingstone. They started off their stay with an exclusive Sunset Cruise on the African Princess, before having a relaxed dinner at the David Livingstone Boma at Royal Livingstone where we arranged an Interactive Drumming Session for them.
On the 2nd day of their visit the group were taken on a guided tour of the Falls and were then able to spend the rest of their day at leisure. That night was the Gala Awards Dinner held at the Royal Livingstone Golf & Country Club. With Tony Vas, renowned Saxophanist, and our local Zambian DJ Jaime May, the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
On day 3 the group had an amazing experience on the Steamtrain where they enjoyed snacks and drinks whilst chugging along to the Victoria Falls Bridge. After an awesome sunset the group headed to Gwembe Village for an African Extravaganza Village dinner. The highlights of the evening included a spectacular Makishi dance show, Marimba Band, and Shangaan Traditional Dancers.
A Chobe Day trip was on the cards for day four, with the group enjoying Game drives, boat cruises and a wonderful relaxing lunch at the Cresta Mowana hotel.
Mukuni Village was an eye-opener for the group, and they were treated to plenty of large smiles from the local school children. The group very kindly donated gifts such as crayons, pens, books and footballs to the Villag.
A picnic lunch wowed the ladies in the middle of the bush en route to the hotel and ended the morning on a relaxed note.
We arranged for a "Shebeen" Evening for the group at the Fez Bar in Livingstone, with games tables, dart boards and relaxed informal barbeque meal. The ladies absolutely loved the evening, and despite a power cut earlier on in the evening they had a wonderful time. This was proved by the amount of giggling and alcohol consumed!
A day of leisure the following day topped off by a Dinner at the Batoka Gorge above Rapid #7 ended the group's last night in Livingstone on a high note. A firepoi show followed by Hang Band entertainment and a scrumptious meal set the tone for a lovely evening.
It was with genuine regret that we had to say goodbye to this group - WOW what a lovely bunch of people!
Danone Group Travelled 30th Jan - 2nd February 2008
- 52 pax
South African Conference group which we booked accommodation and conferencing for at Royal Livingstone Hotel as well as transfers and activities. They spent most of their time conferencing but they did manage to enjoy a Gwembe Village dinner the first night, a Sunset Cruise on the African Queen on the 2nd evening and a River float and picnic lunch on Day three. On the afternoon of day three they were able to do optional activities including Elephant Back rides and heli flights before a steamtrain sunset bridge run followed by their Gala Dinner at the Clay Pigeon Boma.
Cansaf accompanied the group to the airport on the last day and said their goodbyes before they headed off back to their respective cities in SA.
